1. Aṇṭā bhāṅgij̄ibā (ଦେ.ବି.) - କୌଣସି ଗୁରୁତର ଆଘାତ (ଯଥା - ପ୍ରହାର ବା ଉଚ୍ଚରୁ ପଡ଼ିଯିବା) ଯୋଗୁଁ ଅଣ୍ଟାର ହାଡ଼ ଜଖମ ହେବା Fracture of the bone of the waist due to a serious blow or fall.
2. ବାର୍ଦ୍ଧକ୍ୟ ବା ରୋଗଯୋଗୁଁ ବଳ କମିଯିବା; ଅଣ୍ଟା ବସି ଯିବା Becoming weak on account of old age or illness.
3. (ଦେ.ବିଣ.) - ହତୋତ୍ସାହ ହେବା Becoming discouraged.
4. ନିରାଶ ହେବା ବା ହତାଶ ହେବା Becoming hopeless or desperate.
5. କୌଣସି ବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ବନ୍ଧୁ, ପରିଜନ ବା ସହାୟକଙ୍କ ବିଚ୍ଛେଦ ବା ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ଯୋଗୁଁ ମନରେ ଗୁରୁତର ଦୁଃଖ ଜନ୍ମିବା Great affliction due to the separation or death of a beloved or helping person. (ଯଥା - ଅର୍ଜନକାରୁଆ ପୁଅ ମରିବା ଦିନରୁ ତା ଅଣ୍ଟା ଭାଙ୍ଗିଗଲାଣି)

2. ପରିଶ୍ରମସାଧ୍ୟ କର୍ମ କରିବା ବା ବହୁ ଦୂର ପଥ ଚାଲିବା ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଅଣ୍ଟାରେ ଭିଡ଼ାଯିବା ଚାଦର A sheet tied round the waist to enable a person to labour hard or walk a long distance.
3. (ଦେ.ବିଣ.) - (ଏଥିରେ ଅଣ୍ଟା ଉପରେ ଭିଡ଼ ପହଞ୍ଚିବାରୁ) ବହୁ ପରିଶ୍ରମସାଧ୍ୟ (କର୍ମ) (work) Requiring hard labour.

1. Aṇṭā saḻakhibā (ଦେ.କ୍ରି.) - ଏକାଦିକ୍ରମେ କିଛିକାଳ କୌଣସି ପରିଶ୍ରମସାଧ୍ୟ କାମ କରିବା ଯୋଗୁଁ ଅଣ୍ଟା ପିଠି ଲାଗି ଗଲେ ବା ଘୋଳି ହେଲେ କିଛିକାଳ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ଦେହକୁ ଓ ଅଣ୍ଟାକୁ ସିଧା କରିବା To straighten one's body and waist after working hard for some time at a stretch.
2. ଶ୍ରମ ମେଣ୍ଟାଇବା ପାଇଁ କିଛିକ୍ଷଣ ବିଶ୍ରାମ ନେବା To take rest for being relieved of wearinness after hard labour.
3. (ପ୍ରାଦେ./ସମ୍ବଲପୁର; ଗଡ଼ଜାତ) - ପହିଲି ପାଳି ଯାଇଥିବା ଝିଅ କିଛିଦିନ ସ୍ୱାମୀଘରେ ଖଟିବା ପରେ କିଛିଦିନ ପାଇଁ ବାପଘରକୁ ଆସିବା  (said of a young wife) To return to the parents' house after passing some days with the husband after consummation of marriage.

1. Aṇṭāsūtā (ଦେ.ବି.) - କରଧୁନୀ; କରସୂତା, କଟିସୂତ୍ର; ଅଣ୍ଟାରେ ପିନ୍ଧାଯିବା ସରୁ ଦଉଡ଼ି  A string worn round the waist.
