 [ ଉ. ] ମୁକ୍ତ ଚାର୍ଜ ବିହୀନ ଅଞ୍ଚଳ: ଏହି ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ କୌଣସି ମୁକ୍ତ ଚାର୍ଜ ବାହକ (Free charge carriers) ଯେପରିକି ଇଲେକ୍ଟ୍ରନ୍ (Electrons) କିମ୍ବା ହୋଲ୍‌ସ (Holes) ନଥାନ୍ତି। Region devoid of free charges: In this region, there are no free charge carriers, such as electrons or holes.

ଗଠନ ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟା: P-ଅଞ୍ଚଳରୁ ହୋଲ୍‌ସ ଏବଂ N-ଅଞ୍ଚଳରୁ ଇଲେକ୍ଟ୍ରନ୍ ପରସ୍ପର ଆଡ଼କୁ ଗତି କରି ସଂଯୋଗ ସ୍ଥଳରେ ମିଶିଯାଆନ୍ତି (Recombination)। ଏହା ଫଳରେ ସେଠାରେ କେବଳ ସ୍ଥିର ଆୟନ (Fixed ions) ରହିଯାଆନ୍ତି, ଯାହାକୁ ଅବକ୍ଷେତ୍ର କୁହାଯାଏ। Formation process: Holes from the P-region and electrons from the N-region move towards each other and combine at the junction (recombination). As a result, only fixed ions remain in that area, which is referred to as the depletion region.

ଫରୱାର୍ଡ ବାୟାସ୍ (Forward Bias): ଏଥିରେ ଅବକ୍ଷେତ୍ରର ଚଉଡ଼ା ହ୍ରାସ ପାଇଥାଏ ଏବଂ ବିଦ୍ୟୁତ୍ ସହଜରେ ପ୍ରବାହିତ ହୁଏ। Forward Bias: In this state, the width of the depletion region decreases, and electric current flows easily.
ରିଭର୍ସ ବାୟାସ୍ (Reverse Bias): ଏଥିରେ ଅବକ୍ଷେତ୍ରର ଚଉଡ଼ା ବୃଦ୍ଧି ପାଇଥାଏ ଏବଂ ବିଦ୍ୟୁତ୍ ପ୍ରବାହ ବନ୍ଦ ହୋଇଯାଏ। Forward Bias: In this state, the width of the depletion region decreases, and electric current flows easily.

1. Abkshepaṇa  (ସଂ.ବି.) - ତଳକୁ ଫିଙ୍ଗି ଦେବା Act of throwing down.
2. ବ୍ୟଙ୍ଗବିଦ୍ରୂପକରଣ Satirising; sarcasm.
